As most mothers will tell you having a baby is a life changing experience. For some women the joy and euphoria of a new baby can be masked with feelings of helplessness, isolation and anxiety and for 16% of Australian women this can lead to post natal depression.This year, Magnolia Square will be supporting the work of beyondblue, the national depression initiative in particular the areas of anti natal and post natal depression. Information on treatments, help services and support will be available at the beyondblue table at Magnolia Square which you are welcome to take home and read or pass on to someone you know. The beyondblue website is also a great resource for information on helping yourself and helping others.
